Who We Are

CO-OPS Network is operated by COCOM LLC, an international cooperative services entity. We build tools and infrastructure for the cooperative economy — globally. Contact: [email protected]

What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the network:

• Account data: Name, email, and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• Session tokens: Stored in your browser's localStorage — not cookies. Used to keep you signed in.
• Analytics: We use Umami, a privacy-first, self-hosted analytics tool. It counts page visits and does not track individuals or use advertising cookies. Analytics data is never used to target, profile, or score individual members — it is used only in aggregate to understand how the network is used and to improve our services for everyone.
• Order data: If you purchase from a co-op in the network, we store your order and shipping details to fulfill it.

Cookies

We use cookies minimally:

• Functional: Session state and preferences stored in localStorage (not cookie-based).
• Analytics: Umami may set a cookie to distinguish unique visits. No personal data is stored. No cross-site tracking.
• Third-party: Some pages embed content from external sources (images, fonts). These providers may set their own cookies subject to their own policies.

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit. Declining will not affect your ability to use the network.

How We Use Your Data

• To operate your member account and authenticate you across the network
• To process orders placed through co-ops in the network
• To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, welcome messages)
• To understand aggregate site traffic via privacy-preserving analytics

We do not sell your data. We do not use your personal data or analytics to target you with advertising. We do not share it with third parties except to fulfill orders (e.g., dropship partners).

A note on ads.coop: COCOM operates a cooperative advertising network. Any ads served through that network are contextual — matched to page content and cooperative context, not to your personal profile, browsing history, or member data. Your identity and account information are never used for ad targeting.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email [email protected] to make a request. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Order data is retained for 7 years for accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

Security

We take security seriously. Passwords are never stored in plain text. All data in transit is encrypted. We treat security as an ongoing responsibility and review our infrastructure regularly. Found a concern? Email [email protected].
